Wild Wings Safaris

Wild Wings Safaris For over 20 years, we've been guiding and designing African safaris shaped around the individual. Every safari we plan is shaped around the individual.

We share real wildlife sightings, insights from our travels across Southern and East Africa, and stories from a community that cares deeply about the wild. Wild Wings Safaris is a specialist African safari company with offices in South Africa and the UK. For over 20 years, we've designed tailor-made safaris across Southern and East Africa, built on first-hand experience and long-standing relations

hips with the lodges and guides we work with. Our team travels regularly to the properties we recommend so that our advice is practical, informed and balanced. We also operate our own guided safaris in South Africa's Kruger National Park, using custom open safari vehicles and highly qualified guides. This hands-on involvement keeps us closely connected to the realities of safari travel. We don't use templates, and we stay personally involved throughout the process. We are members of ABTA (UK) and SATSA (South Africa). Here we share real wildlife sightings from our guides, insights from our travels, and stories from a community of travellers who return to explore with us again.

Welcome to June ๐Ÿ˜Š The month named after Juno, the Roman goddess of youth. Appropriately enough, it's also one of the best times of year to spot African wild dog pups on safari. Wild dogs are already one of Africa's most sought-after sightings. Spotting a pup? That's next level. And yes, if you look closely, this little rascal appears to be peeing while being carried. ๐Ÿ“น Simon Vegter

The wild strips life back to the essentials. Perhaps that's why people connect so easily there.

We know which we prefer ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you, Alice, for the lovely review and for trusting us with your company safari adventure.

"We used Wild Wings Safaris for a company incentive trip, and it was absolutely amazing! The entire process was seamless from start to finish. The guides, Simon, Manuel, and Rufus, were fantastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. I'd highly recommend Wild Wings to anyone planning a group or corporate getaway; they truly go above and beyond."โ€” Alice Fry

A wild dog rubbed her chin against our vehicle. We were feeling rather honoured by the whole thing. Then she sneezed in our general direction and walked away. Safari has a way of putting you in your place. ๐Ÿ“น Simon Vegter

Looks affectionate, doesn't it? ๐Ÿ˜Š But this is actually classic summer zebra behaviour. While one zebra swishes its tail to chase away flies from its own rump, it also helps keep flies away from its neighbour's face. A very practical arrangement: you swat my flies, I'll swat yours. ๐Ÿ“น Simon Vegter

Safari is sometimes a problem of not knowing where to look. The hyena. The vulture. Or the pile of young wild dogs. ๐Ÿ“น Simon Vegter

No safari in Kruger feels complete without a lilac-breasted roller sighting ๐Ÿ˜Š One of Africa's most loved birds, and with good reason. The colours. The attitude. That final head tilt. ๐Ÿ“น Simon Vegter

Amboseli or Tsavo for elephants?

Truthfullyโ€ฆ there's no wrong answer.

One gives you close-up elephant sightings beneath Kilimanjaro. The other gives you vast wilderness, red elephants and that feeling of being wonderfully small in a very big landscape.

We've broken down the differences (and why many safari travellers end up wanting both) in our latest FAQ.

Amboseli and Tsavo are two of Kenya's best safari destinations for elephants, but they offer very different experiences. Compare elephant sightings, landscapes, safari style and wildlife viewing in Amboseli and Tsavo.
