First things first — you know I adore the Bahamas. I’ve been going since the 1990s and have soaked up the sun, the culture, the food, the diving (yes, even with sharks!), the energy, and the beauty of 700+ islands. The people and the vibe are unmatched.
But because I care about you and your safety, I need to share this important update.
⚠️ BE IN THE KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
The U.S. government has issued a stern safety advisory regarding certain water‑sport activities in Nassau.
👉 Jet Ski Safety Risks:
U.S. citizens are being advised to avoid jet ski rentals due to multiple reports of assaults, injuries, and unlicensed operators (2024–2026).
👉 High‑Risk Zones Identified:
Incidents have occurred around Paradise Island, Junkanoo Beach, Saunders Beach, Cabbage Beach, and smaller isolated islands east of Paradise Island.
👉 Travel Advisory Notes:
• Avoid unsolicited offers from operators
• Pay attention to local weather & marine alerts
• U.S. government employees are prohibited from using jet skis on New Providence & Paradise Island
