👑 Have you heard of Trooping the Colour? 🇬🇧
Every June, one of Britain’s most famous royal traditions takes place in London. Trooping the Colour is the official birthday parade of the King and has been celebrated for more than 260 years!
During the parade, over 1,000 soldiers, hundreds of horses, and military musicians march from Buckingham Palace along The Mall in a spectacular display of precision, history, and pageantry.
The event ends with a Royal Air Force flypast, watched by the Royal Family from the Buckingham Palace balcony.
Originally, soldiers would parade their regiment’s flag, or “colour”, so that everyone could recognise it in battle. Today, the tradition continues as a celebration of British history, culture, and the monarchy.
