Cape Town Tours | Cape Winelands Full Day Tour:
Stellenbosch: We start the morning at the Stellenbosch winelands, only 20 min out of Cape Town, which offers a majestic scenery that is entirely different to the Cape Peninsula. You will discover different grape varieties that grow in the area such as Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, and the uniquely South African Pinotage. You will also learn about the Méthode Cap Classique developed in the region, that emulates and rivals the very best French champagnes.

Franschhoek: We then head to Franschhoek - a wine-lover's dream destination - also known as "the French corner", an old Huguenot village. With its numerous streets and estates with French names, the town will make you feel completely bewildered, feeling like you were in France in another era. You will be completely enchanted by the town's charm and its peaceful environment. You will get the chance to taste the region's delicacies, cheeses and its best wines.

Drakenstein Prison: Also known as Victor Verster Prison, is located between Franschhoek and Paarl. The prison is famous for being the one where Nelson Mandela spent the last fourteen months of his imprisonment for campaigning against Apartheid, afterwards leaving a free man in February 1990!

Paarl: We end off in Paarl, offering you a great perspective into Afrikaans culture and tradition. The district is specially well-known for its Pearl Mountain or "Paarl Rock". Paarl offers you a diverse range of wine farms, the famous Spice Route, the Taal Monument (the Afrikaans language monument), coffee shops, breweries and plenty more. You will also be able to visit the town's vineyards where you will taste the region's finest wines. (1h)

* Wine farm may differ depending on the day of the week or the time of year.

Cape Town Tours | Best of Cape Town Full Day Tour:
Your guide will provide commentary about the areas en-route and the day begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburbs of Sea Point and Camps Bay, where you’ll have spectacular views of the Table Mountain range.

Continue to the fishing village of Hout Bay, one of Cape Town's best-kept secrets. Enjoy an optional short boat trip to Duiker Island, time permitting, to see the Cape fur seals that inhabit the island.

Next is the Cape Point Nature Reserve, covering an area of more than 17,300 acres. The reserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including baboons, rhebok, Cape mountain zebra, bontebok, and the elusive eland. It is also one of the world's largest breeding grounds for tortoises. You’ll see the spot where, as per legend, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet and feel the brisk wind that is said to have curative powers.

Following the coastline along False Bay, by way of Simon's Town, with a stop to visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

We then head across False Bay to The Cape Winelands that lie's just 20 minutes outside of Cape Town, and this is where you will find some of the country’s top wine estates.

A number of wine varietals are produced here, including Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Pinotage and the signature sparkling wine, methode cap classique. The town of Stellenbosch offers plenty more besides wine tasting, including cellar tours, cheese tasting and the chance to purchase wine at cellar prices.

Let yourself be guided around the stunning wine cellars of this old established estate, feeling the passion of the winemakers and understanding the process that goes behind turning a grapevine field into a sumptuous wine. Treat yourself to a tasting of the estate's finest wines and cheeses.

Happy Monday!!

Table Mountain is proud to be one of the official New7Wonders of Nature, and the only one to be located in an urban area, making it highly accessible. Competing against major international attractions, Table Mountain made it to the top seven after a campaign that attracted more than 100-million global votes.

The New7Wonders of Nature campaign began in 2007. The support from voters, including South Africa’s favourite archbishop, Desmond Tutu, was overwhelming.

These seven sites have now all been officially inaugurated as the world’s New7Wonders of Nature:

The Amazon, South America
Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
Iguazú Falls, Argentina and Brazil
Jeju Island, South Korea
Komodo, Indonesia
Puerto Princesa Underground River, Philippines
Table Mountain, South Africa

In December 2012, the plaque that proudly confirms Table Mountain's status as one of the New7Wonders of Nature was officially unveiled. The ceremony was followed by a massive celebration through the streets of Cape Town as part of the city's annual switch-on of the festive lights. Dancing, singing and a giant rotating Table Mountain float marked the historic occasion.

Starting in 2013, a New7Wonders legacy project was launched, in conjunction with Cape Town’s World Design Capital 2014 programme. To celebrate Table Mountain’s success in the New7Wonders campaign, a series of giant yellow frames were erected in various locations around Cape Town. Each one offers a different perspective on the Mother City’s most famous attraction and visitors to the frame sites are encouraged to stop and take a photo and share them with us in our gallery.

The first frame to be built was at the V&A Waterfront. More frames have since been erected, and can now be found at Signal Hill, Eden on the Bay in Bloubergstrand, Khayelitsha’s Lookout Hill, the Cape Town Station forecourt, the historical District Six, and the newly-developed Silo District.

Happy Monday!!

The Cape Peninsula (Afrikaans: Kaapse Skiereiland) of South Africa is a generally mountainous peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean at the south-western extremity of the African continent. At the southern end of the peninsula are Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope.

On the northern end is Table Mountain, overlooking Table Bay and the City Bowl of Cape Town, South Africa. The peninsula is 52 km long from Mouille point in the north to Cape Point in the south. The Peninsula has been an island on and off for the past 5 million years, as sea levels fell and rose. The towns and villages of the Cape Peninsula and Cape Flats, and the undeveloped land of the rest of the peninsula now form part of the City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality. The Cape Peninsula is bounded to the north by Table Bay, to the west by the open Atlantic Ocean, and to the east by False Bay in the south and the Cape Flats in the north.
