‘What a privilege it is to be in this industry.’ Public Private Partnerships are essential and collaboration - meaning work with or together is key.

These were the overriding messages I got from being in the room with industry leaders at the recent SATSA, The Voice of Inbound Tourism AGM.

The picture of Cape Town Tourism head Enver Duminy and Alderman Vos of Western Cape Government doing an ‘Ebony and Ivory’ rendition emphasising the need to sing the same tune was a case in point.

It was a huge privilege to meet John Varty and hear about the Rhino renaissance project’s success and to hear about the new developments in the V&A Waterfront by the new CEO as well as hear about the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup happening in South Africa next year. I came away invigorated, stimulated and excited about the future of South African tourism as we tackle any problems facing us together. Well done SATSA, The Voice of Inbound Tourism for a brilliantly organised conference and Cany Bugler for making it such a fun 3 day event.
